Crochet Christmas Coffee Cozy – Free Pattern

Crochet Christmas Coffee Cozy – Free Pattern

Isn’t this time of year wonderful?  The Christmas season brings such a joyful spirit to my home.  I love it because the weather turns cold, and the snow begins to fall and everything looks so clean and fresh.  I love being able to wrap up in layers and wear my favourite sweaters and boots.  With the air being so crisp and cold, it is wonderful to come home to soups in the crock pot, the wood stove going and sitting down with a cup of hot chocolate.

Since it is the season of all things warm and fuzzy, lets talk about hot drinks!  I know, it’s a captain obvious statement, but hot tea in a glass mug is really stinkin hot.  I will admit, I’m beginning to fill a drawer with cup cozies. These Cozies make wonderful stocking stuffers and Christmas gifts.

This cup cozy is a very easy pattern.  It takes such a small amount of time to complete and uses a very little amount of yarn.  In most of my patterns I have many pictures to show how each project comes together, however, I forgot to take any while making this project.  Luckily, it is only a single crochet stitch used in this pattern, so here we go.

** As always, please feel free to use these patterns as much as you like, but please always refer back to this post to share the pattern so that we can continue to post them for free!**

Row 8-9: Ch 1.  Sc in each st for the round.  Slst into the first ch to join.

Row 10: Switch colour back to red and disconnect the black colour.  Ch 1.  Sc in each st for the round.  Slst into the first ch to join.

Row 11-15: Ch 1.  Sc in each st for the round.  Slst into the first ch to join.

At the end of row 15, tie off your end and weave in all loose ends.

Now it’s time to make the belt buckle.  Use your yellow embroidery string to sew a square around any part of the black strip as shown in the picture below.  Once all the way around the square, tie the ends together and cut off all loose ends that can be seen from the outside.

I love to make things, all kinds of things, crochet is just one of the crafty hobbies I have. Many of the women in my family crochet and my love for homemade things was sparked at a young age. On this site I will be direct and to the point with patterns. Every project here has been made by myself and the pattern was written as I went along. I really hope that you like these patterns and tips. I am always looking forward to feedback as well so feel free to comment! ~Stephanie
